"Construction of the Project and other reasonably foreseeable future projects would result in temporary & permanent changes in land use within the Project area."
"Dominion has designed the Project to minimize impacts on existing and future
land uses by paralleling existing rights-of-way.
Dominion anticipates restoring as many land use types as possible to their original condition following construction.
Land uses impacted by activities associated with the recovery of the Marcellus gas
reserves would vary widely in the proposed Project area.
Project impacts on the same land types impacted by development
of the gas reserves could have cumulative impacts on these resources;
however, in most cases, land use for the proposed Project would revert
to pre-construction conditions, thereby reducing cumulative impacts
on land use.
Drilling operations and gathering pipelines would also be expected
to return to preconstruction conditions in most of the affected area.
Therefore, we believe that cumulative impacts on land use resources
would be minor."
